POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans, organizes and directs the Child Life Program. Provides emotional, social and developmental support to hospitalized children (including Pediatrics and NICU) and their families (including siblings). Serves as a role model and communicates Child Life philosophy throughout the organization.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Special Education or Therapeutic Recreation required. Experience working with hospitalized children preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Current Child Life certification through the Association of Child Life Professionals.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational and critical decision-making skills. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred. Successful completion of annual clinical, age specific and job specific competencies and skills validation tools.
