Job Overview:

The Echocardiogram Technician performs technical procedures such as Adult TEE and TTE with the use of an Echocardiogram machine, to obtain ultrasound images to aid in diagnoses of cardiac disease

Qualifications:

Required:

• Successful completion of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology program with emphasis on echocardiography or RCS Certification is required or eligibility is required,
• A minimum of 15 echo-related CMEs required per three year period as required by ICAEL standards
• Previous experience in performing all modalities of cardiac non-invasive testing is preferred
• Maintenance of required BLS Heart Health Care Provider course completion status is required
• Successful completion of all required orientation programs is required

Preferred:

• At least one year of relevant work experience

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

• Successful completion of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology program with emphasis on echocardiography or RCS Certification is required or eligibility is required

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

• 7-3
• Days
• Full-time

Essential Functions:

• Conducts cardiac testing on patients,
• 2D Echocardiogram, M-Mode color Doppler
• Stress tests include nuclear stress, stress echocardiograms and cardiopulmonary stress tests
• Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms
• Holter monitor hookup
• Participates in unit quality improvement projects
• Individual departmental-specific duties as assigned
