About the Role:


The Program Manager is a subject-matter expert who builds, expands and leads events and live media for the brands within their portfolio. This role serves as the business lead for their events creating content and driving strategy but also directing sales, marketing and event production. The role reports to the SVP of Strategy and Content, Live Media.

The Program Manager manages the event P&L in keeping with budget and forecast and is an internal and external ambassador of the event. Specifics responsibilities of the role include:

• Conceptualizing and researching key topics and subject matter to identify appropriate content and potential high-profile expert speakers, including conducting research calls with target audience leaders.
• Creating and writing compelling program agendas, leveraging innovative formats, structures and platforms that drive engagement and value for target participants.
• Recruiting high-level, smart and provocative industry speakers, thought leaders, disruptors and innovators.
• Building strong relationships and an extensive network of C- and senior management-level speakers, partners and sponsors in our core market groups and across the industries disrupting them.
• Working closely with sales team to provide market intelligence, leads, and other useful information on all events within the portfolio to achieve revenue and contribution targets.
• Leading the flawless execution of the events along with event production team.
• Researching and specifying the audience for the events in partnership with marketing team.
• Facilitating research and validating new event ideas to increase the conference, event and live media portfolio and its financial performance.
• Facilitating speaker introductions, panel discussions and other program content at live events when needed.
• Working with the SVP of Strategy and Content to develop new revenue streams and live media platforms including bespoke custom events, webinars, video and podcast content, and newsletters.
• Leading calls with prospective sponsors and/or exhibitors to identify thought leadership opportunities to drive revenue while meeting high-quality editorial standards.
• Leading the strategy and direction for marketing, sales and event production
• Writing compelling copy, invitations and marketing materials that meet high standards and evolve as needed.
• Participating in other industry events to build relationships and deepen subject-matter expertise.

Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5-8 years of conference, event and or live media programming experience (not event planning) with a focus on developing and leading high-profile B2B, content-rich conferences and live events.
• A four-year college degree is desired, preferably in Journalism, Marketing or Business
• Deep knowledge of banking, financial services, insurance or fintech industries
• Experience with events and registration platforms is plus but not required
• Proficient in persuasive, clear, and concise writing and communication
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Willingness and ability to travel
