Job Description

Summary

The Quality Coordinator (Hospital/Clinical Improvement) assists the QMRC Director with originating, coordinating, and utilizing information management strategies and communication to facilitate the implementation of the facility’s Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement Program in accordance with the mission, goals and objectives of the organization and to meet certification, including core measures, nursing, regulatory and accreditation body requirements(40%). The Quality Coordinator facilitates improvement in the overall quality for sepsis, stroke nursing and other clinical services (30%). Serves as the pediatric quality coordinator for EMSC (20%). The Quality Coordinator plays a major role in the integration of high reliability, Lean and 6 Sigma methodologies into the daily work of each department and organizational unit (10%).

Education:

Nursing degree from an accredited institution.

Experience:

Minimum of three years in an acute care facility and demonstrated working knowledge of general hospital operations. Case Management, Medical and/or Emergency Department experience desired. Working knowledge of Quality Improvement principles recommended. Must possess a positive working relationship with the Medical Staff, Department Leaders, and Hospital Staff throughout the facility, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be capable of working independently and autonomously. Working knowledge electronic medical records, Word, Power Point, and Excel Office products. Previous chart review or audits required.
