We are currently recruiting for a BIM Specialist to join our Bloomfield, CT team!
Job Summary: The BIM Specialist works within the the BIM team using Revit, Rhino, Autocad and Permasteelisa proprietary software (PMF). The person in this role is responsible for reading and interpreting 2D fabrications drawings of curtainwall, and then translating them into BIM model primarily using Revit. The specialist needs to work within the PMF software and hence be responsible that it is always maintained with the correct information which regards to the BIM models.
- Read and interpret Architectural drawings related curtainwall.
- Read and interpret 2D fabrication drawings of curtainwall units.
- Modify existing template and/or creating accurate and detailed 3D models
- Develops and/or modifies custom model components,
- Generate and annotate drawings for submittals
- Runs clash detection and highlights issues to the right stakeholder
- Ensures all work is maintained and adheres to company and project standards.
- Develops custom parametric components,
- Supports project teams with technical issues and doing 3D studies
- Trains and monitors BIM Modelers and contribute to standards to ensure high standards are met in model quality and efficiency
- Attend BIM coordination meetings and assist Coordination.
- Participate in various design training activities.
- Generation of material takeoffs and BOM lists
- Drafting in a variety of CAD environments (AutoCAD mostly)
- General coordination with other engineering, project management, and field personnel
- Model, federate generate schedule and drawings following PNA’s Global codification of bracketing/bracketing elements to send out information for purchasing and Site team.

Educational Requirements | Bachelor degree preferred, or Associate degree (with relevant experience) in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering |
Computer System Skills | Proficiency in Revit is a must; and experience with Rhino, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is a Plus. |
Work Experience | 5-7 year’s related experience. Experience in construction/curtainwall industries a plus. |
Other | Overtime work as required to ensure work schedule compliance International travel may be required to country where project may be located or relevant inter-company responsible for the project execution. Well organized, Strong communication skills |
