This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a CORE IT Operations Manager Virtual Workstations for Simulation in France.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of a critical virtual desktop infrastructure supporting large-scale engineering simulation activities. You will operate at the intersection of IT operations, high-performance computing, and digital engineering environments, enabling hundreds of simulation engineers to work efficiently on complex workloads. The position involves managing a highly technical VDI platform, ensuring service availability, and driving operational excellence across Windows and Linux virtual workstations. You will collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and support teams to maintain and evolve a mission-critical simulation ecosystem. This is a highly visible role within a global engineering environment where reliability, precision, and collaboration are essential. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that shape the future of digital simulation platforms.
- Ensure the availability, stability, and performance of a large-scale virtual workstation environment supporting simulation activities, while maintaining compliance with defined service levels and operational agreements.
- Manage IT operations processes including incident, problem, change, configuration, and event management to ensure uninterrupted platform functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across Windows and Linux virtual environments, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors when required.
- Oversee updates, deployments, and lifecycle management of platform components, including system images and simulation applications.
- Monitor infrastructure health, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including engineers, IT teams, and management to ensure alignment between operational needs and platform capabilities.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, or similar technical environments involving complex systems.
- Strong expertise in virtualization technologies (VDI, Citrix or equivalent), Windows and Linux administration, and enterprise infrastructure components.
- Experience with Active Directory, network storage, firewall rules, application deployment, and enterprise IT tools such as ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes including incident, problem, change, and service level management.
- Exposure to high-performance computing or simulation environments is considered a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to operate in mission-critical environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders in English.
