Position Description
We invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Kasper lab in the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. The work of the Kasper lab is focused on host-microbiome interactions. We welcome applications from recent PhD graduates who are interested in this field, particularly those who may bring a new technology or perspective to bear on the work in the lab. Our lab has a leadership role in this exciting area and is developing collaborations on host-microbiome interactions, microbial chemistry, and cancer immunology. We would like to hire a postdoctoral fellow with experience in designing, conducting, and analyzing in vivo mouse studies to investigate immune dynamics across homeostasis and disease, including subcutaneous, colonic, and rectal tumor models relevant to immunotherapy research. Experience with plasmid cloning, bacterial genetic manipulation, including work with both facultative and strict anaerobic bacterial species, is highly encouraged.

The successful candidate will work to develop an independent research project within the scope of the lab’s research. In addition to carrying out bench research, the successful candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to the writing of grants and manuscripts, participate in teaching and mentoring of lab members as needed, and otherwise contribute to overall lab operations and collaborative environment.

Basic Qualifications
PhD and/or MD in immunology, cell biology, or a related field and experience working with mouse models.
