Position Location: Must relocate to or live in Atlanta, GA / Amarillo, Lubbock, Big Spring, Fort Worth, Dallas, El Paso, TX / Las Cruses, NM
SALARY

Compensation may include base salary, bonus, per diem, and relocation assistance as applicable.
JOB SUMMARY
The Site Superintendent – Critical Infrastructure is the primary on-site leader and field execution authority for Smart Tech Contracting on hyperscale and colocation data center construction projects ranging from 40 MW to 200 MW.
This role owns day-to-day site operations, supervising all STC labor, subcontractors, and partner firms while coordinating activities across all trades on site. The Site Superintendent serves as the single point of contact and face of STC to General Contractor superintendents, owner representatives, commissioning authorities, and key trade partners.
The Site Superintendent is accountable for safety, schedule, quality, and field coordination across the full lifecycle of construction, installation, startup, and commissioning. This role operates as a peer to GC superintendents and project management leadership, exercising independent authority to direct work, resolve conflicts, and escalate risks as needed to protect schedule, safety, and execution quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Site Leadership & Trade Coordination (40%)
Lead all STC field operations and supervise all on-site labor, subcontractors, and partner firms.Coordinate daily activities across all trades, including electrical, mechanical, automation, controls, networking, commissioning, and specialty vendors.Serve as STC’s primary on-site representative to GC superintendents, owner construction managers, and commissioning authorities.Lead daily coordination meetings, site walks, and trade alignment sessions to maintain execution flow.Resolve field conflicts and sequencing issues in real time to protect schedule and quality.Schedule, Execution & Quality Management (25%)
Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules aligned with the GC master schedule.Direct field execution for installation, startup, testing, and commissioning activities across all scopes.Enforce QA/QC standards and ensure work is executed in accordance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.Track field progress, manpower loading, and productivity to support project controls and reporting.Identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and execution risks; escalate with clear recommendations.Safety & Risk Management (20%)
Own site safety execution in coordination with STC safety leadership and GC safety teams.Enforce OSHA, NFPA 70E, STC safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.Lead daily toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and high-risk activity planning.Exercise stop-work authority for unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified.Oversee energized work, cutovers, and high-risk operations in coordination with safety and commissioning teams.Client, GC & Stakeholder Engagement (15%)
Represent STC professionally during owner, GC, and commissioning site walks and executive reviews.Communicate site status, risks, and mitigation plans to project management and leadership.Maintain strong working relationships with trade partners and vendors to drive collaboration and accountability.Support lessons learned capture and feedback into STC field execution standards and playbooks.Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in field supervision, site leadership, or superintendent roles within mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction environmentsProven experience supervising multi-trade construction sites and managing subcontractors and partner firmsStrong understanding of construction sequencing, safety, quality control, and commissioning workflowsDemonstrated ability to serve as primary site authority and client-facing representativeExperience coordinating with GC superintendents, owner representatives, and commissioning authoritiesWorking knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and high-risk construction activitiesStrong leadership presence, decisiveness, and ability to operate under schedule pressureProficient with construction documentation, drawings, schedules, and digital field tools (Procore, BIM 360, or similar)Excellent communication skills with both trades and executive stakeholdersAbility to plan, delegate, and direct work across large, fast-paced job sitesPHYSICAL DEMANDS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal educationMinimum of ten (10) years of experience in field leadership roles involving construction execution, subcontractor management, site supervision, and troubleshooting in mission-critical, hyperscale, or complex MEP construction environmentsBENEFITS
