About This Position
This position is responsible for direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of the RN, Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, and ED Director. The employee is responsible for continued monitoring of the patient, reporting to the nurse any changes and assisting the nurse in interventions and coordination of care with ancillary support services as determined necessary for the patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a graduate from a certified EMT-P program or a graduate of an accredited RN program awaiting NCLEX-RN exam.
- Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of patient care pertaining to patient population.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Certifications are only accepted from The American Heart Association.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent from a department of education accredited program required.
- One (1) year of acute care in 911 first response unit preferred.
- Basic EKG Certification preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task while working in a high volume work environment required.
- Able to work effectively with team members, supervisors, patients and their families to accomplish team goals.
- Ability to plan, organize and perform job associated tasks to completion. Willing to adjust personal schedule to accommodate patient needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computers and proficiency in the use of an electronic health record system required, CPSl/Evident preferred. Knowledge of web based programs and Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel preferred.
