This role offers the opportunity to lead and optimize a global accounts payable function within a complex, high-scale organization operating across multiple regions. You will oversee daily AP operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in vendor payments and expense processing. Acting as both a strategic leader and hands-on manager, you will guide a distributed team, strengthen internal controls, and improve financial workflows. The position plays a key role in month-end close activities, budgeting support, and regulatory adherence across corporate and government requirements. You will collaborate closely with finance leadership while driving continuous improvement in processes and systems. This is a highly visible role where leadership, precision, and operational excellence directly impact financial integrity and organizational performance.
In this role, you will oversee the full accounts payable lifecycle while ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and strong team performance:
- Manage daily operations of a global accounts payable team, including workload distribution, queue management, scheduling, and performance oversight.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense vouchers, and employee reimbursements in compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Supervise month-end close activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and financial controls.
- Maintain and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Support budgeting processes and provide monthly financial analysis and variance reporting.
- Review and improve AP systems, workflows, and standards to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide leadership through coaching, performance management, and team development while resolving operational issues.
The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex AP operations in a structured and regulated environment:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in business administration or finance, with a strong preference for accounts payable experience.
- At least 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience managing financial operations teams.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP and financial controls.
- Knowledge of federal and regulatory frameworks such as FAR, JTR, and cost accounting standards (preferred).
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems, along with familiarity with standard business tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and mentor teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Competitive salary range: $95,000 – $119,000 annually
