The Engine Shop Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of maintenance operations within one of the Turbine Engine Shops. This role ensures safe, compliant, efficient, and high-quality maintenance of CHI fleet and customer aircraft engines while meeting production, cost, schedule, and performance objectives. The Supervisor provides direct leadership to technicians and leads, manages daily shop operations, and partners with program management, quality, and supply chain to achieve business goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provides direct supervision of turbine engine maintenance personnel, including work assignments, staffing, scheduling, overtime management, and performance oversight, with emphasis on safety, quality, customer service, and productivity.
  • Owns execution of production plans by coordinating labor, tooling, parts availability, and technical resources to meet cost, schedule, and delivery commitments.
  • Partners with Program Management and shop leadership to manage workload forecasts, establish priorities, and track progress against milestones and budget targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FAA regulations, repair station procedures, and Quality Management System requirements, accountable for audit readiness and corrective action execution.
  • Reviews and approves maintenance documentation as required, ensuring accurate recording of findings, work performed, and corrective actions.
  • Leads hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions for shop personnel; identifies skills gaps and develops workforce capability plans.
  • Establishes and enforces shop standards for tool control, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention.
  • Serves as primary escalation point for technical and production issues; coordinates with Engineering, Quality, and internal/external customers to resolve complex maintenance problems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and other improvement methodologies to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost performance.
  • Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous development aligned with Company Core Values.
  • Provides regular operational and personnel performance reporting to maintenance management.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or college coursework in aviation maintenance or management preferred
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required
  • Certified per FAR Part 65, with eligibility to hold maintenance release and/or inspection authorizations
  • Minimum of 6 years of turbine engine maintenance experience in an overhaul or heavy maintenance environment, including leadership or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of turbine engine maintenance and component repair processes
  • Knowledge of turbine engine–to–airframe interfaces; test cell and on-wing troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of FAA regulations, repair station procedures, and Quality Management System requirements
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and develop technical personnel
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and problem-solving skills in a production environment
  • Experience driving continuous improvement and corrective action processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance tracking systems
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Company’s Core Values
  • Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements as a U.S. Person
