This role focuses on designing and implementing modern automation solutions that enable secure, scalable, and highly efficient infrastructure across enterprise and government environments. You will work at the intersection of infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps engineering, helping teams adopt Infrastructure-as-Code and advanced CI/CD practices to improve reliability and operational speed. The position involves solving complex technical challenges using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Git-based pipelines while supporting both Windows and multi-cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to enhance system performance, strengthen security posture, and automate critical infrastructure processes. The environment is highly technical, mission-driven, and spans commercial, federal, and regulated sectors. This is a remote U.S.-based role offering exposure to impactful automation initiatives at scale.
- Design, build, and deploy Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible to support scalable environments
- Serve as a technical expert in automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management practices
- Develop and maintain automation workflows for Windows and cloud infrastructure, including system hardening and configuration enforcement
- Collaborate with engineering and stakeholder teams to integrate automation into existing environments and improve operational efficiency
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of automation issues, including playbook failures and pipeline disruptions
- Provide advisory guidance to help teams mature automation capabilities and adopt best practices
- Identify and implement improvements to infrastructure architecture, particularly in secure and regulated environments
- Manage and resolve support requests related to automation systems and ensure timely resolution of technical issues
- 5+ years of IT experience in systems, infrastructure, or automation engineering roles
- 3+ years of Windows Server administration experience including Active Directory, Group Policy, patching, and system hardening
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure automation and configuration management
- Experience with Git-based CI/CD platforms such as GitHub or GitLab
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work across technical teams
- U.S. citizenship required for federal project eligibility
- Experience in secure or regulated environments is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is a plus
- Knowledge of security hardening standards (STIGs, CIS benchmarks) and compliance tools is an advantage
