Senior Lead Engineer - Hardware

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Lead Engineer - Hardware in India.

This role is designed for an experienced hardware engineering professional who will lead the design, development, and validation of complex digital electronic systems within a high-performance aerospace and defense environment. You will play a critical role in driving end-to-end hardware development, from requirements definition through schematic design, testing, and product qualification. The position involves working on advanced avionics systems where reliability, precision, and compliance with stringent industry standards are essential. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust, manufacturable, and testable designs. The environment is highly technical, innovation-driven, and focused on safety-critical solutions that impact global aviation systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace technologies while working alongside highly skilled engineering experts.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead end-to-end hardware development lifecycle activities, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, validation, and product support.
  • Design digital electronic circuits and perform schematic capture and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) development for complex systems.
  • Work extensively with high-speed interfaces and bus technologies such as Ethernet, I2C, USB, LVDS, SERDES, and DDR memory interfaces.
  • Conduct signal integrity, timing analysis, and system-level testing to ensure performance and reliability under defined standards.
  • Execute and support environmental and compliance testing aligned with standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting using advanced engineering lab equipment to resolve hardware issues efficiently.
  • Apply Design for Cost (DTC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test (DFT) principles to optimize product lifecycle performance.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements, testability, and compliance across all stages of hardware development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, manufacturing, and validation engineering to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and explore embedded system integration opportunities where applicable.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in hardware development lifecycle, preferably in complex embedded or avionics systems.
  • Strong expertise in digital electronics design, schematic capture, and PCB/CCA development.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed interfaces including Ethernet, USB, LVDS, SERDES, I2C, and DDR1/2/3 memory systems.
  • Solid understanding of signal integrity, timing analysis, and hardware validation techniques.
  • Experience in environmental and regulatory testing standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware using lab instruments and engineering test setups.
  • Strong knowledge of DFM, DFT, and cost-optimized design methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage complex technical challenges independently while collaborating in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in high-stakes, safety-critical engineering environments.
  • Embedded systems experience is considered a strong advantage.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and industry standards
  • Comprehensive group health insurance coverage
  • Group term life insurance and personal accident insurance
  • Meal coupons and additional allowances
  • 18 days of annual vacation plus 12 days of contingency leave
  • Employee scholar programme for continuous learning and development
  • Work-life balance support and flexible collaboration models (onsite/hybrid depending on role)
  • Car lease programme and fuel/maintenance allowances
  • National Pension Scheme (NPS) and LTA benefits
  • Opportunity to work on advanced aerospace and defense technologies in a global engineering environment
