Phlebotomist at Beacon Health System – Kalamazoo, Michigan

Full time. 40 hours/week. Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p

Collects and processes blood specimens for testing and performs multiple clerical and processing functions.

Responsibilities:
Sets up instruments. Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.

Receives, centrifuges, accessions, processes and transports specimens. Verifies all related records. May draw and collect blood samples according to policy.

Orders add-on tests, works pending lists, and resolves duplicate orders.

Performs clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, reviewing Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), data entry and filing.
