The Opportunity
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily work of up to six housekeeping employees while ensuring members’ homes, rental properties and member lodges are cleaned, maintained, and prepared to establish cleanliness and presentation standards. This role performs hands-on cleaning duties as needed and provides day-to-day oversight, direction, and support to the housekeeping team.
In addition to routine cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, kitchens, and public areas the Housekeeping Supervisor monitors work quality, assigns tasks, assists with training, and ensures all housekeeping operations are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies. The Supervisor supports quality control efforts and helps maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for members and guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising up to six housekeeping employees, including training, coaching, feedback, and quality control, to support a high-quality housekeeping program.
- Coordinate daily with management to ensure operational needs are met.
- Perform all essential housekeeping duties, including but not limited to straightening furniture, dusting, vacuuming, emptying trash, making beds, and cleaning and maintaining restrooms.
- Provide courteous and professional service to members and guests, including communicating guest requests or preferences as needed.
- Perform minor maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks on site when necessary.
- Conduct routine inspections of member homes, rental properties, and public areas to ensure cleanliness, quality, and overall condition meet company standards.
- Assist with stocking and inventory control of housekeeping supplies.
- Promote and maintain safe working conditions through proper training and adherence to safety procedures.
- Perform all essential housekeeping and supervisory duties in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
- Operate a company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, in compliance with traffic laws, and in varying weather conditions including snow and ice.
- Uphold Moonlight Basin core values and lead team members by example.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or management team.

- Proficient in English reading, writing, and comprehension; additional language skills are a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, leadership, and members/guests
- Exceptional attention to detail in all cleaning and maintenance tasks

- Ability to perform duties efficiently while maintaining quality standards

- Must comply with Moonlight Basin’s Dress and Grooming policies
- Ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful hospitality environment with unpredictable business levels
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
Working Conditions
This position spends approximately 90% of the time working indoors and 10% outdoors in all weather conditions. Work hours generally begin at 9:00 AM and conclude between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, depending on operational needs.
Outdoor duties may involve exposure to snow, rain, mud, uneven terrain, and occasionally slippery surfaces—conditions typical of a residential mountain community. Indoor work takes place in temperature-controlled environments with moderate noise levels.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift)
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds independently
- Must have the stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive motions such as scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
- Ability to safely navigate slippery or uneven floors and tight workspaces
- Capable of hearing, speaking, and seeing well enough to communicate effectively in a noisy lodge setting
- Comfortable working long shifts, weekends, holidays, and variable hours based on seasonal business demands
