About This Position

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Instructor provides job specific training courses for BBAHC,

and the Bristol Bay Region as delegated. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment, submitting timely documentation, and following through on course commitments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Basic Life Support Certification is required for all instructors. Additional certification is required to teach specific courses as outlined.
  2. EMT license required for EMS course administration.
    1. Completion of Alaska Specific Instructor Certification is required upon hire.
  3. BLS Instructor Certification for BLS course administration is required upon hire.
  4. De-escalation training certification for course administration is required.
  5. Maintains cooperative working relationships with students, organizations, and colleagues.
  6. Maintains confidential record keeping and organized office spaces.
  7. Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and use of time management skills.
  8. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  9. Demonstrated knowledge of customer service concepts and practices.
  10. Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of department specific protocols, workflows, equipment, and patient care standards as appropriate.
  2. Serves as support to the Division of Nursing, including prioritizing work to ensure that it is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Maintains and secures confidential records.
  4. Delivers onboarding presentations as needed.
  5. Assists with mock codes as needed.
  6. Assists with Learning Management System (LMS), content creation, and course tracking as needed.
  7. Organize courses and effectively communicates with students.
  8. Assists with coordinating flights, shipping equipment and books, and ensuring travel documentation is submitted for village-based trainings as needed.
  9. Utilizes proper infection control measures while maintaining sanitation of office space/conference rooms, and training equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an office setting but may include clinical settings, including Inpatient, Emergency Department, Obstetrics, and Outpatient Services. There is frequent exposure to contagious diseases. The role requires the ability to see, hear, speak, walk, sit, bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required when hosting courses off site. Village travel may be necessary.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This position is variable on an as needed basis. Weekend or evening hours may be necessary to accommodate outreach courses.
