In-House Service Engineer

We currently have an opening for an In-House Service Engineer, for our Ultra High Purity (UHP) unit. This individual is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, testing, and calibration of our Cavity‑Ringdown Spectroscopy (CRDS) trace impurity gas analyzer. This position is based in Horsham, PA, reporting to the Technical Service and Support Manager with a focus on ensuring reliable instrument performance, improving service efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement across UHP product lines.

This is a Aftermarket position that will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Field Service teams.

This role plays a critical part in driving our vision to partner with our customers to become their preferred process analytical solutions provider.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate analytical instruments and related mechanical and electronic assemblies.
  • Accurately document service activities, including inspections, repairs, test data, and parts usage.
  • Use ERP and internal systems to track equipment movement, inventory transactions, service notes, and reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and service teams to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, walking, stooping, and balancing to handle equipment and materials (up to 35 lbs.).
  • Apply PI values to tasks and responsibilities.

  • Support service‑related activities and assist with tasks outside primary responsibilities as needed to maintain a service‑focused, team‑oriented environment.

Qualifying Attributes and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline), or equivalent hands‑on technical experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with mechanical, electronic, or optical assembly, hardware troubleshooting, and use of diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to interpret and follow SOPs, service manuals, assembly drawings, schematics, diagrams (including P&IDs), bills of materials, and product specifications.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, calculations, data plotting, and trend analysis (preferred).
  • Experience operating, repairing, or maintaining analytical instruments (e.g., spectrometers, gas chromatographs, mass spectrometers, medical devices, or similar equipment) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and all organizational levels.
  • Detail‑oriented and well‑organized, with the ability to maintain accurate and thorough service records.
  • Self‑motivated, capable of working independently with limited supervision, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to adhere to quality management systems and support ISO compliance and internal processes.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, standing, and maneuvering equipment as required for assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Willingness to assist with tasks outside primary responsibilities when needed.
  • Demonstrated initiative and follow‑through on commitments with team members and management.
