About This Position


Purpose of this position:

The Director of Patient Access is responsible for driving admissions performance, maintaining data accuracy, optimizing call conversion, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality admissions experience from first contact through admission.

As a leader in the organization, the Director of Patient Access is responsible to:

  • Oversee and manage daily admissions operations
  • Handle and oversee inbound admission calls as needed
  • Ensure accurate phone-based pre-assessments and insurance verification
  • Monitor admissions workflows and call performance
  • Ensure sliding fee scale applications and county liabilities are completed fully and accurately
  • Maintain data integrity and compliance
  • Establish, enforce, and continually improve admissions processes and standards
  • Ensuring a welcoming and confidential environment for all consumers
  • Working directly with program directors and Executive Leadership to ensure consumers receive timely access to services
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all community partners

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong insurance knowledge, including benefits verification and coverage explanation
  • Minimum of three years’ experience, with increasing responsibilities in the leadership of a healthcare service organization
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple staff to ensure effective and efficient operations
  • Experience with compliance and quality management as well as primary care and behavioral health practice management
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multicultural environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
