Job Description
Commercial Mechanical Systems & Service, LLC (CMSS) is seeking an experienced HVACR Plumber to join our skilled service team. This full-time position focuses on diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and piping systems that support HVAC, hydronic, and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial clients throughout Utah.
Summary
The HVACR Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and plumbing systems. This position requires adherence to UA Local Union 140 standards, safety regulations, and high-quality workmanship across commercial and industrial projects.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial plumbing and mechanical piping systems
- Service and maintain hydronic systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and associated piping
- Perform repairs on domestic water, sanitary, and gas piping systems
- Identify system issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on plumbing and mechanical systems
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, repairs, and recommendations
- Generate accurate service reports, notes, and time entry (MobileTech/field systems)
- Coordinate with dispatch, service managers, and other trades as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, safety standards, and UA Local 140 practices
Qualifications
- Active membership in UA Local Union 140 (or ability to obtain)
- Journeyman-level experience required
- Strong background in commercial service plumbing and mechanical piping systems
- Experience with hydronic systems, boilers, and HVAC-related piping preferred
- Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Work in various environments including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions
- Prolonged standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing
