About This Position
SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the CEO/President, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial aspects of the company and drive the company’s financial strategy and planning. The CFO will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company, as well as possible risks and investments. This position will be a critical member of the senior leadership team, and will be key in the development of a financial and operational strategy and creating metrics to support the strategy. The CFO will be responsible for the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and reporting of accurate financial results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the finance department and develop a high-performing team.
- Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities and staff requirements, identifying monetary resources and developing action plans.
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.
- Manage company’s risks by reviewing exposures, determining risk tolerance, and implementing risk management policies and procedures.
- Ensure capital adequacy, manage assets, and assess organizational financial strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, and customer service strategies.
- Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of the company’s financial information.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation, and reporting, ensuring compliance with guidelines and internal policies.
- Work with senior leadership on the strategic vision, including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee financial due diligence for potential M&A activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master’s Degree preferred
- CPA preferred
- 15+ years’ of experience in Accounting, with at least 5 years’ experience in an executive leadership role, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of leadership while building high-growth companies
- Advanced knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Demonstrated competence and experience implementing and managing rigorous, disciplined financial controls, financial management systems and enterprise performance measures
- Passion and skill for the operational aspects of a company’s financial organization
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with various departments to meet deadlines
