Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to support ground-up custom homes and high-end remodels from early concept through construction. This role is responsible for developing accurate, detailed cost models that inform design decisions, procurement strategy, and overall project execution. The Estimator partners closely with design, project management, and leadership teams to ensure projects are financially viable, competitively priced, and aligned with company standards and client expectations. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and construction budgets for custom residential projects
  • Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs from full architectural and structural plan sets
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify gaps, risks, and cost drivers
  • Develop pricing using current market data, historical project performance, and subcontractor input
  • Collaborate with design and project teams to value-engineer solutions while maintaining design intent
  • Maintain cost accuracy throughout the preconstruction phase as plans evolve
  • Monitor pricing trends, material costs, and labor conditions specific to high-end residential construction
  • Communicate estimate assumptions clearly and support internal decision-making

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction estimating or project management
  • Strong working knowledge of custom home construction and high-end remodels
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complete architectural and structural drawings
  • Demonstrated experience preparing detailed takeoffs, budgets, and cost estimates
  • Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and regional pricing in Arizona
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Software & Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with estimating and project management platforms (Buildertrend or comparable)
  • Advanced capability in digital plan review, takeoffs, and markups
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills for budgeting, modeling, and cost analysis
  • Experience with construction estimating software preferred

Comfortable working with cloud-based project documentation and collaboration systems
