About This Position
Do you want to help people see better, look better, and feel better? We are seeking applicants for the position of ASC Support Specialist to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center at our Fresno Facility. We are looking for someone with excellent knowledge in medical terminology and pre- and post-op practices. This person will perform duties necessary to assist the surgery center nurses.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains knowledge of appropriate actions to take in any facility emergency.
Assists with ASC supply needs and restocking.
Maintains knowledge of pre/post-op documentation requirements.
Performs administrative duties pertinent to the position.
Completes all pre/post-op documentation requirements.
Provides consent forms and contains necessary signatures.
Brings consent and advanced directives issues to the attention of the ASC Team Lead or Manager.
Performs proper break-down and submission of surgical chart and route slips post-op.
Performs chart reviews and prepares charts for the next day's cases.
Assists with patient flow and care at time of entry to the ASC and upon return to the PACU until discharge.
Ensures patient has met pre-op requirements.
Reconciles anesthesia records daily to allow billing by anesthesia providers.
Provides discharge instructions for patients.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records.
Knowledge of common pre/post-op medications and ASC equipment including care and maintenance practices.
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
Ability to use or learn computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, internet, e-mail, and NextGen.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience in a surgery center (preferred).
Current BLS certification.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a vision care setting. Pay rate will be determined based on the years of experience and skills of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
POSITION LOCATION: Fresno
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
PAY RANGE: $22.70 - $34.06 per hour depending on experience, skills, and certifications.
