Job Description
Intensivist
POSITION SUMMARY: The primary function of the physician is to provide physician services for maintenance of health and the care and treatment of their patients. Physician shall render appropriate patient treatment consistent with the current standards of care.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: The following qualifications or equivalents are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the job: Graduation with a degree of Doctor of Medicine from an approved medical school. Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Board eligibility in Internal Medicine with the understanding that Board certification will be acquired within the specified time in accordance to SRMC’s Medical Staff Bylaws. Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina and a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate. Experience in a medical provider setting. Four (4) years post-qualification structured training/experience in Intensive Care (Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine or equivalent from a recognized center). Must be ACLS certified
