Job Description

Role: XTL Transport has been a trusted employer for mechanics and technicians and drivers for 40 years. We're searching for an experienced trailer technician in our Airdrie location.

Schedule: 4 on / 4 off shift cycle working 730am - 6pm. On call as required

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow and maintain all safety measures according to company policies and procedures
  • Carefully listen to Driver's feedback
  • Conduct inspections and diagnose issues
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions
  • Replace part and components as required
  • repair body damage
  • Inspect, diagnose and repair trailer electrical systems, landing gear assemblies and suspension/brakes
  • Conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on the following:
    • Coupling and hitching systems;
    • tires
    • hubs
    • wheels and axles;
    • heating and refrigeration systems
  • Maintain current PM's CVIPs and schedule future maintenance sessions
  • Keep logs on work and issues using internal software
  • maintain company owned equipment and keep tools in neat and proper condition
  • Assist in conducting pre and post vehicle inspections of equipment
  • Report any safety or repair issues to the shop supervisor
  • Be courteous to our internal (co-workers) and external customers
  • Be able to maintain a fleet of over 130 trucks and 350 trailers
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
  • Red Seal Technician/CVIP certification is required
  • Reefer experience and asset
  • Valid drivers License: Class 1 or 3 an asset
