This role is focused on leading a highly skilled engineering team responsible for building and evolving complex integration systems in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will play a key role in shaping technical decisions, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and guiding architectural choices that support scalable and high-performance solutions. Acting as both a technical reference and a people leader, you will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and drive continuous improvement across development and delivery processes. The position requires strong expertise in software engineering, especially in backend ecosystems such as Java, combined with a strategic mindset to align technology with business goals. It is a highly collaborative environment where autonomy, innovation, and quality are central to how teams operate.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of software engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration
- Make key technical decisions and solve complex engineering challenges related to integration systems
- Define, design, and guide the implementation of new functionalities with a focus on scalability and quality
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, coding practices, and architectural principles across the team
- Review code and provide constructive feedback to maintain high-quality software delivery
- Break down large technical initiatives into smaller, manageable, and well-structured deliverables
- Monitor production systems, analyzing performance, errors, and system reliability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Identify innovation opportunities and promote adoption of modern engineering practices and tools
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, knowledge base, and technical standards
Requirements:
- Solid experience in web development and software engineering
- Strong background in Java and familiarity with other languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby
- Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design
- Experience building modular, high-performance, and distributed systems
- Proven leadership skills, including team mentoring and technical guidance
- Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities
- Strategic mindset with ability to align technical solutions with business goals
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields (preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of Spring or Grails is a plus
- Background in solution architecture courses or certifications is a plus
