Crane Currency has an immediate opportunity for a college student to gain hands-on experience in our Facilities Engineering department. This position pays $22/hours, is for approximately 5 months, and will be onsite based out of Dalton, Massachusetts.

How you will make an impact:

Our program is designed to give you the chance to make a true impact on the business. You will be working alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on exposure to preventive maintenance practices and troubleshooting activities that help ensure reliable and efficient operations. Through observation and supervised participation, you will contribute to minimizing equipment downtime and learn proper procedures and regulatory standards. Additionally, the role provides opportunities to develop your technical skills, understand manufacturing processes, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and operational effectiveness. You will participate in a variety of activities and projects such as:

  • Assisting with diagnostics and repairs on process control equipment as well as routine upkeep and calibration of the equipment.

  • Installation of new equipment and establishing preventative maintenance programs

  • Assist with setup, testing, and calibrating of field loops (I/P, valves, flow converters, ect.)

  • Contribute to large and small scale projects led by Engineers and/or Technicians

  • Co-lead the design and programming of an offline HMI screen

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • You must currently be enrolled and seeking an Associate's degree with a focus on engineering, mechanical or manufacturing at an accredited school to be eligible for consideration.

  • MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Skills (or equivalent)

  • Basic Math skills

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to demonstrate and maintain suitability for employment in a position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.

Preferred:

  • Understanding or course work in electronics and pneumatics systems

  • Competent in the safe use of hand and power tools

  • Ability to learn or understand PLC software applications

  • Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, technical manuals, and blueprints
