Description:
Riggs Power Systems is hiring an experienced Power Field Technician to support customers in the Texarkana area. This field-based role services and repairs power generation equipment including diesel and gas engines, generators, switchgear, and complex electrical systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with large engines, CAT 3500 series frac engines, and/or electric power generation systems, and will deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality service to our customers in the field.
What You’ll Do- Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines, generators, switchgear, and electrical components
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and load bank testing
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using CAT software, schematics, and service manuals
- Service and maintain large engine platforms, including CAT 3500 series frac engines
- Support start-ups and commissioning on new power system installations
- Provide accurate service documentation and communicate clearly with internal teams and customers
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Represent Riggs Power Systems professionally while delivering strong customer service
- Support customers throughout the Texarkana region and surrounding areas
- 3+ years of Power Systems experience working with diesel or gas engines, generators, switchgear, or power generation systems
- Experience with large engines and CAT 3500 series engines (frac engine experience preferred)
- Oil & Gas field experience preferred
- Experience with electric power systems or power generation equipment
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with start-up and commissioning of power systems highly preferred
- Familiarity with CAT, Cummins, or similar OEM systems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and utilize laptop-based diagnostics
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work independently in the field
- Willingness to travel (up to 50% overnight) as needed

Employee must be able to frequently lift 20 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally.
