INTERIOR DESIGN INTERN

Job Description
Gray Design Group is seeking passionate and creative interior design students pursuing a degree in an accredited interior design program who are eager to apply their education in a dynamic, real-world setting.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in all phases of interior design, working alongside designers and architects on projects across multiple sectors. Gray’s comprehensive design approach integrates interiors, architecture, branding and graphics, providing valuable insight into how these disciplines intersect to create cohesive and impactful spaces. This holistic perspective enhances problem-solving skills and prepares interns for the diverse challenges of the design industry.

As a collaborative firm, we offer a personalized experience where interns engage directly with principals and senior designers. This one-on-one mentorship fosters a deeper understanding of the profession and accelerates skill development through direct involvement in project discussions, design critiques and client interactions. Our hybrid work model, flexible schedules and emphasis on continuous learning make this an ideal opportunity to bridge academic studies with professional practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing interior design drawings, space planning and FF+E selections
  • Create presentations and contribute to design concepts and material selections
  • Collaborate with designers, architects and project teams on active projects
  • Support construction documentation, detailing and specification writing
  • Participate in design collaboration, client meetings and team discussions

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a CIDA-accredited interior design program
  • Strong design sensibility and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Experience in Enscape desired
  • Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills
