Position Overview
The Director of Sales is responsible for driving commercial performance across Basecamp and Everwild’s hotels, spas, dining venues, and experiences.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on building a scalable sales function across both B2C and B2B. You’ll lead the group sales team, develop new demand channels, and work closely with Marketing, Revenue Management, and Operations to improve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, spa utilization, dining demand, and ancillary revenue.
The role is weighted toward Everwild, where success means consistently filling hotel rooms, spa lockers, and dining spaces through a balanced mix of tourism-driven demand, group and corporate business, and targeted local and regional initiatives during lower-demand periods.
The flagship Everwild Canmore location draws inspiration from its Bow Valley setting, while future Everwild properties will reflect the character and rhythms of their own destinations. New projects are underway in Banff, Harmony Village (Calgary), Fernie, and additional locations across Canada and the U.S.
As the portfolio grows, we’re strengthening how sales support performance across every asset.
Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 plus incentives
Locations: Calgary or Canmore, AB (onsite). This is an in-person role with regular travel to existing and future Basecamp and Everwild properties.
Key Responsibilities
Building Demand
- Strengthen and evolve the sales funnel across Basecamp and Everwild, with a focus on repeatable, scalable demand generation.
- Develop new sales channels, partnerships, and programs across both B2C and B2B.
- Grow tourism-driven business while helping design local and regional offers that support performance in shoulder and off-peak seasons.
- Own and grow gift card sales and membership programs as complementary revenue drivers, particularly for Everwild.
Driving Performance
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall revenue performance across hotel, spa, dining, and ancillary channels.
- Partner closely with the Director of Revenue to align sales activity with pricing, yield, and inventory strategy.
- Ensure Everwild spas are operating at strong utilization levels year-round, with particular attention to throughput and capacity optimization.
Leading the Team
- Lead and develop the existing group sales team with clear goals, accountability, and performance tracking.
- Help shape the future sales organization as Everwild expands into new markets.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and coaching as the team grows.
Working Across the Business
- Partner closely with Marketing on annual strategies, campaigns, and lead flow, particularly around seasonal demand and new initiatives.
- Ensure strong coordination between sales, marketing, revenue, and operations, with shared KPIs and clear ownership.
- Contribute to annual planning, forecasting, and growth initiatives across both brands.
Requirements
- A senior hospitality sales leader with 5–10+ years of experience, ideally in multi-property, resort, lifestyle, or destination-driven environments.
- Someone who enjoys building and refining systems rather than inheriting something fully formed.
- A leader who understands how tourism, group business, and local demand work together to drive overall performance.
- Collaborative, commercially sharp, and comfortable working closely with operations.
This role is not suitable for someone looking for a purely transactional or commission-driven sales role. It is also not for a candidate who prefers highly centralized sales structures and minimal hands-on involvement.
