Responsibilities
FDOT has created the District 2 Corridors Program Office for the delivery of complex projects with innovative procurement technics. This office will operate in close collaboration with other District Corridors Program Offices to ensure a uniform approach and delivery statewide. The District 2 Corridors Program Office will work alongside District 2 staff and owner representatives to collaborate with contractors and designers to deliver high profile projects in District 2.
Qualifications
RS&H is currently seeking a Roadway Team Lead / Principal Roadway Engineer to join our team in the District 2 Corridor Program Office in Jacksonville, FL. This is an embedded position reporting to the office 5 days per week.
As part of the Corridors Program Office team, you'll serve as a subject matter expert in delivering the largest and most complex projects in District 2. From the very beginning of RFQ development and marketing meetings to seeing projects through construction. This position will help lead the procurement, plans development and assist during construction.
This position will be a technical resource for the program and will be relied upon to have a full
understanding of the standards and design processes and communicate that information to all parts of the project team and program. Providing quality reviews with quick turnarounds and be able to clearly communicate comments from the reviews back to the project team. Actively participate in innovation meetings with designers and contractors. Help drive the scope and innovation of all projects and communicate with engineers and coordinate plans reviews.

To be successful in this role, you must:
- Have a degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 15 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Be a professional engineer in good standing.
- Be knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
- Be proficient in production software and construction document production.
- Have proven background and ability to make decisions that have significant impact to an organization, as well as recommend operational strategies and plans with direct impact on results.
- Be recognized as a thought leader in the industry and have experience leading the work of multiple disciplines and participating in and/or having decision-making on technical matters within discipline.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance.
- Have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
