About the role

The Marketing & Engagement Manager supports brand and marketing execution across Dermot’s residential portfolio. This role brings strategy to life at the property level—delivering digital content, managing online reputation, and driving engagement with current residents through thoughtful campaigns and consistent brand touchpoints. Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Responsibility & Communications, this position collaborates with both corporate stakeholders and property teams to ensure every communication and interaction reflects Dermot’s voice, values, and visual identity.

What you'll do

This role focuses on executing brand, marketing, and engagement efforts across the portfolio under the direction of the VP of Corporate Communications. The Marketing & Engagement Manager brings strategy to life on the ground—through content creation, digital execution, campaign rollout, and coordination with internal and external teams.


Corporate + Portfolio Marketing Support:

  • Support execution of Dermot’s brand strategy across all internal and external marketing materials
  • Execute on visual and written brand standards to ensure consistency in voice, tone, and identity across corporate and property-level campaigns
  • Oversee and manage centralized property marketing. Create and maintain standardized marketing templates for flyers, email, signage, and social media content. Support property teams in the coordination of photo shootings and property specific marketing assets, including ad-hoc requests for customized collateral across individual sites.
  • Assist with marketing performance tracking and reporting across key channels, including Dermot’s social media accounts, online reputation platforms, resident engagement (Ignite), and brand campaigns.
  • Support KPI analysis—follower growth, post engagement, review response rates, event participation, email open/click rates—to help identify what’s working and guide future content strategy and campaign planning.
  • Support onboarding efforts related marketing for new properties in the portfolio, including the coordination with existing or new vendors, website set up, and preparation of “go-live”.

Digital Marketing, Content Creation + Website Management:

  • Execute day-to-day content creation for social media, including writing captions, developing visuals (in Canva or similar), and scheduling posts that reflect Dermot’s brand voice
  • Create and adapt digital content for various platforms—social, email, website, and internal screens—with a focus on storytelling, engagement, and clarity
  • Support website and microsite management, ensuring content is accurate, up to date, and executed in line with brand standards

Reputation Management:

  • Actively monitor Dermot’s online reputation across platforms (Google, Yelp, Apartments.com, etc.) and help respond to reviews in a timely, brand-aligned way
  • Track and follow up with property teams to ensure reviews are addressed consistently, professionally, and in line with corporate messaging.
  • Flag reputational issues and coordinate with site teams and senior leadership when escalation or alignment is needed
  • Identify trends and common themes in resident feedback to help inform proactive communications and experience improvements
  • Support the development of messaging and campaigns that reinforce Dermot’s brand values, transparency, and resident-first approach

Dermot Ignite + Resident Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the Ignite team to execute marketing strategies that drive participation in building-level events and programs
  • Help manage and execute on the Ignite brand across signage, screen content, social posts, and other materials
  • Create content and campaigns that engage residents in ESG-focused initiatives (e.g. sustainability, wellness, giving back)
  • Assist in developing flyers, digital screen content, signage, newsletters, and other on-site touchpoints used to promote events and engage residents

Internal Collaboration + Brand Support:

  • Work with the VP of Corporate Communications to create marketing and brand standards, and support property and regional teams in accessing and applying them consistently and effectively across the portfolio
  • Work directly with the VP of Corporate Communications to carry out brand messaging, campaign execution, and tone consistency across the portfolio
  • Stay current on marketing trends, competitor positioning, and resident expectations to keep Dermot’s approach modern and relevant
  • Provide hands-on support for brand and communications projects as assigned across the portfolio

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, Advertising.
  • Marketing & Communications Experience. 3–7+ years in marketing, communications, or brand management Experience with digital marketing channels: Social media (organic and paid) Email campaigns and automation, Content creation (blogs, newsletters, video) SEO/SEM strategies. Proven record of developing and executing marketing plans that drive engagement and measurable results.
  • Industry-specific experience is highly desirable, such as:
    • Property marketing
    • Resident communications
    • Leasing support campaigns
    • Community engagement programs
  • Experience in multifamily or residential real estate leasing is a differentiator.

The annualized gross compensation range for this position is $85,000-100,000 plus a performance-

based bonus incentive. The actual compensation within the range will be based on factors unique to

each candidate including geographic location, years and depth of experience.
