Overview
Leepfrog Technologies, Inc. provides its CourseLeaf software to more than 500 of the nation’s most academically complex colleges and universities to manage their academic catalogs, curriculum, section scheduling, registration, and syllabi management.
The Junior Windows Systems Administrator is a member of a dynamic team in a collaborative, hands-on environment who supports the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and management of new and existing on-premises and cloud-based Information Technology (IT) systems, applications, tools, and services. The Junior Windows Systems Administrator assists with day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client and server systems, storage, network and IoT devices, as well as providing Tier II/III troubleshooting and hands-on support for Leepfrog’s employees. The Junior Windows System Administrator is comfortable working across servers, workstations, and user-facing technologies. This role works closely with senior IT staff to ensure systems are patched, monitored, optimized, and compliant.
Responsibilities
- Support and manage on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including:
o Microsoft server technologies – e.g., Active Directory, Hyper-V, IIS, SQL, etc.
o Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Systems Management for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
o Microsoft 365, other cloud environments and software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
o Solutions for software distribution, patch management, security, and endpoint compliance.
o Security applications, firewalls, databases, and other third-party software.
o Administration and automation utilizing scripting, CLI-based and other software tools.
- Support the administration of other enterprise software, hardware, and internal processes, as well as new initiatives, vendor-relations, procurement, installation, configuration, maintenance, and backups.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows, macOS, and Linux workstations, as well as VoIP and other IoT/mobile technologies and devices.
- Perform routine patching and ad hoc updates across servers, endpoints, and other devices.
- Perform daily system monitoring and reviewing logs, verifying system integrity and security, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs and other delegated tasks.
- Ensure that infrastructure implementations and other end-user software comply with policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines.
- Effectively troubleshoot technical issues involving multiple teams, external partners, and individuals.
- Collaborate with Desktop Support and senior IT staff to ensure internal support, projects and initiatives are executed with efficiency and professionalism.
- Assist with employee IT requests and provide Tier II/III troubleshooting and hands-on support for end-user devices, peripherals, and other workstation-level or related issues.
- Deliver clear, customer focused communication when resolving issues or explaining technical concepts.
- Create and maintain documentation for configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs. Install and perform repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- Develop and maintain the most current product knowledge and new developments in technology.
- Able to work extended, evening, and/or weekend hours. Be on call as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, with a technical major such as computer science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of work experience in an IT role(s) that involved desktop/server, networking, and end-user support.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory users, groups, policies, and permissions.
- Working knowledge or experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of patch management tools and processes.
- An understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall concepts.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Windows security baselines, compliance frameworks, and patch management policies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Competency with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with automation tools and CLI-based administration.
- Experience with on-premises enterprise systems and software deployment solutions.
Physical Requirements
Work environment includes typical computer-related noise levels and paper and equipment generated dust. The Junior Windows Systems Administrator is on call to provide support services during off-hours. Scheduled night and weekend work is required. Some out-of-town travel may be required. Learned physical skills are required for keyboarding and use of peripheral equipment. Must be able to regularly lift up to 40 pounds, occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
