Purchasing Agent - Gas Construction

Position Overview:

As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of our procurement processes. Supporting Transmission Operations Through Procurement & Fleet Management.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong organizational and negotiation skills.


Essential Functions:

Material Order Management:

  • Submitting and tracking Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Ensuring correct coding and job allocation
  • Verifying pricing and quantities
    • Comparing Quotes to get best rates.
  • Following up on deliveries
  • Communicating delays or back orders
  • Maintaining organized documentation

Rental Equipment Management:

  • Ensure ALL rentals have POs issued
  • Documentation of Rentals Arriving / Leaving
    • 360 Pictures
    • Qty Checklist
  • Track start and end dates
  • Monitor rental durations
  • Confirm off-rent requests are processed
  • Email notifications when rentals are called off
  • Verify final billing matches rental duration
  • Notify management of damages immediately

In-House Fleet Management:

  • Track equipment assigned to job sites
  • Monitor transfers between projects
  • Ensure proper documentation of issues
  • Communicate any repair needs

Office Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining rental logs
  • Reviewing tracking sheets (rental / fleet)
  • Updating and resending reports
  • Communicating with vendors
  • Maintaining organized records
  • Maintaining material test reports (MTRS) for all material
  • Monitor calibration certifications on equipment (testing & coating)
  • Attending project meetings (when applicable)

Requirements:

***** MUST be able to travel interstate 100%. Based on jobsite needs. ***** (mostly southeast US)

Strong knowledge in Microsoft (Excel, Work, Outlook, etc.)

Background in inventory management

Experience with mainline construction tools and equipment
