Overview
Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Quality Inspector (Temp assignment) to work in our Westminster, SC location. This is a 1st shift position and standard work hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm. Occasional overtime may be required.
Position Summary of Quality Inspector:
With general guidance from the Quality Manager, employee will be responsible for conducting receiving inspections of product from various suppliers. As part of the receiving inspection process, employee will measure parts, review conditions of product and packaging, analyze material certificates, record results, and label product as released for consumption. In addition to receiving inspection, employee will be expected to review in-process work.

Responsibilities
Quality Inspector Responsibilities:
- Performs receiving inspection functions as directed by manager.
- Collects parts from receiving and prepares them for inspection.
- Performs quality checks per sampling plans and inspection criteria. This will require the use of various gages to include calipers, micrometers, plug gages, bore gages, CMM, viscometer, etc.
- Inputs data into various systems.
- Perform in-process inspection functions as direct by quality manager.
- Conduct product verification on item being processed.
- Perform quality checks per work instructions. This will require the use of various gages to include calipers, micrometers, plug gages, bore gages, etc.
- Inputs data into various systems.
- Exhibits and performs basic personal computer functions in various software systems, including but not limited to:
- Using the business operating system, to check work queues, inventory levels, and other production related tasks.
- Using the Horton “intranet” to access quality information, safety information, and other production related information.
- Uses a printer to print labels that indicate information.
- Clean workspace and maintain 6S standards throughout the plant.
- Performs other duties as directed by manager
Qualifications
Quality Inspector Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent (GED).
- Good communication and teamwork skills is imperative.
- General computer skills are required.
- Basic math and inspection skills are required.
- Packing and material handling skills are required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.
