About the Job

We’re seeking a Director of Finance to lead and oversee the financial operations of Elephants Delicatessen. This role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity across the organization while providing strategic financial insight that supports operational performance and long-term business growth.

This position works closely with executive leadership and operational teams to manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. The Director of Finance plays a key role in translating financial data into actionable insights that help drive smart business decisions across our retail and catering operations.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do

• Oversee accounting and finance operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and manage financial forecasting, projections, and variance analysis.
• Monitor financial performance including revenue, expenses, labor costs, and cash flow.
• Administer and manage the financial components of the Restaurant 365 ERP system.
• Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with GAAP.
• Partner with operational leaders to review financial performance, develop KPIs, and support business improvement initiatives.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to support operational decisions, capital investments, and strategic planning.
• Coordinate external audits, financial reviews, and tax reporting with outside accounting partners.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls, evaluate financial risks, and maintain accurate financial records and reporting systems.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external financial partners including auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, including management or supervisory responsibilities
• Strong experience overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
• Experience in multi-location operations such as hospitality, food service, or retail preferred
• Experience with Restaurant 365 ERP software preferred
• CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification preferred but not required
• Strong analytical thinking and financial modeling capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights for operational leaders
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
