About This Position
The Pullman Market Lead Florist is an hourly role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and artistic direction of our primarily dried floral department. This includes maintaining product quality and presentation, crafting custom arrangements, and ensuring the space remains inviting and organized. The position plays a key role in supporting the visual identity of the market’s floral offerings. The Florist reports directly to the Retail General Manager and Merchandising Director, collaborating closely with them to uphold the market’s creative standards and customer experience.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Assist customers by recommending flowers, answering questions, and building strong relationships.
- Design floral arrangements and displays under guidance from the Merchandising Director.
- Maintain live plants and overall store cleanliness.
- Manage inventory: input invoices, print and apply price labels, monitor stock accuracy, and reorder supplies.
- Coordinate with management on store layout, fixtures, and safety.
- Collaborate with the Social Media Director to promote the floral department.
- Support and help achieve department goals; take on additional tasks as needed.
- Lead with hospitality by setting a positive example and ensuring excellent guest service.
Personal Requirements:
- Be an ambassador for the company and maintain professionalism in and outside of work.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Strong communication and people skills to talk clearly with customers and work well with teammates.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Passion for plants and floral.
- TABC required
Working Conditions:
- A typical work week for this position is 40-45 hours. Hours vary based on needs of the market and the department.
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting objects up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment is possible.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers may be required.
