About This Position
Under supervision, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic nursing assistance and assists residents with daily living activities.
Job Summary: The Shower Aide is responsible for providing personal care and assistance to residents, specifically focusing on showering and bathing. This role is essential in ensuring the comfort, dignity, and hygiene of residents while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist residents with personal care tasks, including showering, bathing, grooming, and dressing.
· Ensure the safety and comfort of residents during bathing procedures, following individual care plans.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of bathing areas and equipment.
· Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or mental health to nursing staff.
· Provide companionship and emotional support to residents during personal care activities.
· Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
· Assist in the documentation of care provided and any relevant observations.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous experience in a healthcare or personal care setting is a plus.
· Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in supporting the elderly.
· Ability to follow instructions and care plans effectively.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Certification in CPR.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and assist residents who may have limited mobility.
· Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks associated with personal care.
Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday
6:00AM- 6:00PM

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses/Certification
Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
Valid CPR certificate.
Experience
Six months experience in a long term-care environment preferred.
NOTE: A CNA who successfully completes an approved advanced skills training curriculum and/or has demonstrated experience in a needed clinical specialty area, e.g. ventilator, pulmonary, and tracheostomy (VPT), can be classified as a CNA II.
