About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our team supporting a client in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Junction Village, VIC.
The role involves providing person-centered support to assist the client with daily living activities, personal care, and maintaining independence in a safe and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene, grooming, and daily living tasks
- Support the client with manual handling and hoist transfers safely
- Assist with mobility and transfers following safe manual handling procedures
- Support the client with household tasks such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and laundry
- Encourage independence, participation, and community engagement
- Support participants with mental health needs, promoting emotional wellbeing and stability
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow individual care plans
- Ensure the client’s safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times
- Experience or training in Manual Handling
- Experience with Hoist Transfers
- Experience or training in Continence Management
- Experience assisting with Meal Preparation
- Experience assisting with Personal Care and Hygiene
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field
- Previous experience working in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment
- Candidates with a nursing background or nursing experience will be highly regarded.
