Position Overview
------------------------
Acera School is seeking a creative, energetic Marketing & Outreach Assistant to support enrollment growth and help share the story of our school with the broader community. This is a hands-on, outward-facing role for someone who enjoys connecting with people, creating content, and being present in the life of a school.
A central part of this role is helping bring Acera’s story to life through social media—capturing authentic moments, highlighting student experiences, and contributing to campaigns that reflect the curiosity-driven, student-centered nature of the school.
Key Responsibilities
---------------------------
1. Social Media & Storytelling
- Support the execution of Acera’s social media presence across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Capture day-to-day school moments (photos, short videos, quotes, classroom highlights) and help turn them into engaging posts
- Assist in building and maintaining a consistent content calendar
- Contribute to storytelling campaigns that highlight student growth, classroom experiences, and community events
- Track basic engagement metrics and help identify what content resonates most with audiences
- Ensure all content aligns with school guidelines around student privacy and brand voice
2. Marketing & Outreach Support
- Represent Acera at local events (e.g., weekend Town Days, festivals, community gatherings) as a welcoming and knowledgeable ambassador
- Assist in promoting school programs, events, and admissions efforts
- Support outreach initiatives aimed at increasing enrollment in both Core Program and Enrichment offerings
- Help distribute marketing materials and maintain community relationships
3. Content Creation & Program Visibility
- Collect and organize photos, videos, and stories from classrooms and school events
- Draft short-form content (captions, blurbs, highlights) for use across platforms
- Support the creation of newsletters, flyers, and other marketing materials
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to surface meaningful student experiences
- Share student achievements through social media and other communication channels
- Assist with event promotion and documentation (before, during, and after events)
School Community Responsibilities

This role is an active part of the school community. Responsibilities include participating in school life beyond core duties, such as covering one weekly playground duty and one weekly dismissal duty, as well as supporting and assisting with school events throughout the year.
Qualifications
------------------
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-3 years of experience in social media marketing, communications, education, or related field
- Strong interest in social media, storytelling, and content creation
- Comfortable using platforms like Instagram and basic design tools (e.g., Canva)
- Strong written communication skills with attention to tone and clarity
- Outgoing and comfortable interacting with families and community members
- Organized, proactive, and able to follow through on tasks, with the ability to receive, reflect on, and incorporate feedback effectively into their work
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
- High emotional intelligence and sound judgment under pressure
- A growth mindset and enthusiasm for ongoing learning and professional growth
Salary & Benefits

- $45,000-50,000 annually
- Health care benefits, Federal/State holidays off
- Two weeks of accrued vacation in addition to school breaks in December, February, and April
- Full time year round position
- School-aged children of full time employees are able to attend Acera’s after school program free of charge
- School aged-children who independently apply for and are granted admission to Acera typically receive a financial aid stipend, capping annual tuition at $17,000/ year
- Schedule-Will include some flexible hours:
-- Weekend and Evenings- when additional time is required, we offer comp time to ensure a balanced workload
-- School Year: 8:30-4:30 PM; may shift with weekend and evening work for events
-- Summer: 8:30-4:30 PM; may shift with weekend and evening work for events
Working Conditions

- Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout school, classroom, and campus, including climbing stairs
- Must be able to traverse the space and adjust one’s tone and height, by bending or leaning
