This role is a dynamic blend of leadership, strategy, and hands-on execution, overseeing a team of Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) within a defined geographic region. You will ensure your team delivers optimal patient access, meets performance goals, and navigates complex payer environments effectively. Acting as both mentor and strategist, you will translate national access strategies into regional plans, remove operational barriers, and provide guidance on escalated cases. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decision making, and the ability to influence outcomes across sales, specialty pharmacy, and patient services teams. This role is critical to driving patient access success and supporting high-impact therapeutic launches while fostering team development and operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a regional team of FRMs, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new FRMs, ensuring rapid ramp-up and consistent execution across territories.
- Translate national field access strategies into actionable regional plans, optimizing territory coverage and workflow efficiency.
- Monitor regional performance metrics, including enrollment volumes, prior authorization success, and appeal outcomes; hold team accountable to targets.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex access or reimbursement challenges, coordinating cross-functional solutions.
- Conduct field visits and ride-alongs to evaluate account dynamics, share best practices, and identify coaching opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales leadership, HUB operations, specialty pharmacies, and other stakeholders to align priorities and ensure smooth operational execution.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD) preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, healthcare, or reimbursement/access roles.
- Minimum of 5 years managing field teams such as FRMs, access specialists, or patient services.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payer/reimbursement landscape, prior authorization processes, specialty pharmacy operations, and HUB models.
- Proven ability to lead teams to achieve performance goals, resolve conflicts, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience in rare disease, endocrinology, or complex access therapeutic areas preferred.
- Data-driven decision-making skills with strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 60%) within the assigned region.
- Competitive salary range: $191,100 - $253,900, depending on experience, skills, and location.
