Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead and elevate the financial operations of a rapidly growing organization. This role oversees all accounting activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, and drives financial excellence across the company. The Controller will manage all accounting operations, lead a high-performing team, and partner closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
This position requires strong technical accounting expertise, deep experience with percent-of-completion (POC) accounting, excellent analytical capability, and a proven track record in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. Controller Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting operations (AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Month-End Close).
- Run monthly WIP meetings and ensure accurate POC accounting and revenue recognition.
- Manage and develop the accounting team and administrative staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Improve processes, policies, and internal controls to support growth.
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements with variance analysis.
- Monitor and improve DSO, DPO, and other key financial metrics.
- Oversee annual 1099 filings and subcontractor compliance (W-9s & COIs).
- Oversee AP accuracy, job costing, SG&A allocation, and vendor compliance.
- Ensure accurate project setup in the ERP system for POC accounting.
- Work closely with sales and operations to resolve project issues early.

Controller Requirements / Preferences
- 7+ years of relevant accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in a private equity–backed environment
- Strong POC accounting and revenue recognition experience
- NetSuite experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proven experience leading an accounting team
- Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast-paced environment
Job Type: Full-time, in-office
Pay and Benefits
Salary Range: $120,000-$160,000 depending on experience
Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus based on performance
Health Benefits: Dental, vision, and life insurance available upon hire and employee-paid
Health Insurance: Company-provided for employees; dependent coverage available at employee cost
Short- and Long-Term Disability: Company-provided; optional additional life and AD&D available
