This role provides a strategic and client-facing position within the retirement plan sales and implementation process. You will serve as a subject matter expert on ERISA and defined contribution plans, helping small and medium-sized businesses navigate plan design, compliance, and activation. The position blends sales support, client education, and process optimization to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial inquiry to plan implementation. You will manage high-volume client interactions, identify trends, and drive improvements to internal systems and workflows. This role operates in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment, offering opportunities to influence the retirement landscape and contribute to scalable financial solutions. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is critical to your success.
Accountabilities:- Provide expert guidance on ERISA compliance, 401(k) plan design, and industry best practices to clients and internal teams.
- Manage and respond to a high volume of inbound client and sales inquiries via phone and email, ensuring timely and accurate support.
- Review competitor pricing and product offerings to inform competitive sales strategies.
- Partner with internal teams to optimize processes, improve service delivery, and ensure smooth client onboarding.
- Identify recurring client issues, propose solutions, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Maintain relationships with a geographically diverse client base, providing ongoing support and education.
- Contribute insights during team and cross-functional meetings to drive product, service, and operational enhancements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in client-facing roles such as customer support or account management within the defined contribution/retirement industry.
- QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) or similar professional designation required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and confidence over phone and email.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure in high-volume environments.
- Experience analyzing competitive pricing and contributing to product or process improvements.
- Familiarity with fintech or fast-growing startup environments is a plus.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
