About This Position
The Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of all public areas within the hotel, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests and staff. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Essential Functions:
- Clean and maintain all public areas, including but not limited to the lobby, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, fitness center, pool area, business center, and meeting rooms, according to established procedures and schedules.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors and other surfaces.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and decorative items.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, ensuring they are well-stocked with supplies.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries related to cleanliness and maintenance in public areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Supervisor or appropriate department.
- Ensure adequate stock of cleaning supplies and inform the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas and storage closets.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to instructions.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up meeting rooms and event spaces as needed.
Other Tasks:
- Assist room attendants with tasks as needed during peak periods.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks in public areas as assigned.
- Deliver items to guest rooms as requested.
- Report lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Assist with inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or management.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role preferred, but not always required.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Positive attitude and a professional appearance.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
