Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.



Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a PCB Commodity Engineer in our Component Engineering Team, you will bring the latest technologies to bear on our Nation's critical missions. From small navigation products to complex receiver-processor systems, you will ensure the PCBs perform reliably in challenging space environments. The GDMS team will look to your leadership to:

  • Assist design engineers to create robust PCB designs that advance our space products.
  • Work closely with project engineers, customers, QA and Suppliers to ensure compliance to flow down requirements from customers
  • Work with suppliers to understand their product portfolios, roadmaps and capabilities to help GDMS designers, programs and the purchasing department to support new technology integration.
  • Lead PCB failure analysis and root cause analyses working with programs to identify corrective action and recovery plans
  • Support occasional travel to meet with customers and suppliers, participate in supplier quality, capability audits and internal source inspections as required
  • Conduct onsite visual and/or photographic review of PCB defects and participate in disposition process with business partners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Broad experience and understanding of PCB fabrication concepts, principles and theories with emphasis on hardware for space applications.
  • Knowledgeable about PCB design, manufacturing, and defects.
  • Contribute to the development of new designs, PCB performance, manufacturing methods and material sciences.
  • Knowledge of relevant PCB specifications including IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610, and IPC-2221 and a thorough understanding of a class 3 PCB design.
  • Knowledge of PCB reliability testing methods and failure analysis techniques and interpretation of data and results.
  • Knowledge and/or experience relating to PCB plating processes and chemistry.

Combined Salary Range

USD $149,902.00 - USD $166,298.00 /Yr.
