This role offers the opportunity to shape foundational AI infrastructure used across an entire product suite.Accountabilities:
- Lead a cross-functional AI product engineering team, owning strategy, execution, and delivery across multiple AI-powered experiences
- Define and drive the technical direction for AI systems, including inference backends, retrieval foundations, and user-facing AI capabilities
- Partner closely with AI research and model training teams to align on model capabilities, evaluation frameworks, and productionization paths
- Ensure high standards for reliability, performance, security, and token-cost efficiency of AI inference services
- Oversee infrastructure operations, including on-call rotations and operational readiness across cloud environments
- Operate in a player-coach model, spending approximately half of your time on hands-on engineering tasks such as writing evaluations, testing, debugging, and contributing to core systems
- 4 to 7 years of experience in engineering management, leading high-performing technical teams
- Recent hands-on engineering experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, Python, or Go
- Strong background in B2B SaaS product development and scalable cloud-based systems
- Demonstrated interest in AI and machine learning, with the ability to discuss current AI trends thoughtfully
- Experience working directly on AI-powered products or platforms
- Excellent communication skills and leadership presence, especially within distributed and remote teams
- Willingness to participate in stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties as required
- Competitive annual salary range of $230,000 to $265,000, based on location, skills, and experience
