Requisition Number:R156958 Certified Nurse Midwife (Open) How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:The certified nurse midwife provides midwifery care and treatment to pregnant, postpartum, gynecology and family planning patients as part of the department's women's services practices. Develops ongoing collaborative and consultative relationships with department physicians.

Carilion Clinic is seeking midwives to join an independent midwifery program.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education accredited midwifery education program.

Experience: none.

Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required. Must have collaborative agreement on file between the physician and midwife to meet State Board regulatory requirement.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP certification required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine. Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. Demonstrates appropriate independence in clinical practice.
