Hours: 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Location: Clarence, New York
Hourly Rate: $19 - $24
Job Summary
Ensures prompt, accurate shipment of products by preparing and packaging orders according to company and customer requirements. Coordinates closely with production and other departments to maintain efficient shipping operations and meet delivery timelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily shipping schedules with production to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
- Manage all outbound shipments, including packaging, documentation, and transportation arrangements.
- Prepare and process shipping paperwork using ERP/accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and proper tracking.
- Design and build custom crates, pallets, and packaging solutions for metal fabricated parts as needed.
- Maintain inventory of packaging materials and ensure proper usage.
- Operate UPS/FedEx shipping software for processing shipments and generating reports.
- Safely operate equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, saws, drills, and other hand tools.
- Lead and support team members, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.
- Provide daily updates to supervisors regarding production, shipments, and any operational concerns.
Additional Responsibilities
- Track production work orders and ensure alignment with shipping schedules.
- Count, pack, wrap, and band materials for shipment to specifications.
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery status and inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and equipment usage guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative packaging solutions.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and general computer applications (Word, Excel, shipping software).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in manufacturing and shipping/receiving operations.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of UPS and FedEx shipping standards and procedures.
- Flexible schedule and dependable transportation.
Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in shipping/receiving or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Must be able to:
- Work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Work overtime, including weekends as requested.
