Bates Air Conditioning—serving commercial HVAC and refrigeration clients since 1964—is growing and looking for a Start-Up / Service Technician to join our Houston team.

If you’ve got some commercial HVAC experience and want to move beyond basic installs or PMs, this is your opportunity to learn start-ups, controls, and true service work with a company that will invest in you.

This role is ideal for a commercial service tech ready to grow into a well-rounded commercial technician.

Pay & Benefits

• $26.00–$32.00/hr + overtime (weekly pay)
• Company vehicle + gas card (take-home)

What You’ll Do

• Start up, test, and troubleshoot commercial HVAC systems
• Assist with and learn controls/EMS systems (training provided)
• Perform light service work and support service calls
• Help with small installs, upgrades, and system adjustments
• Ensure safe, high-quality work on active job sites

What We’re Looking For

• 1–4 years of commercial HVAC experience (install, service, or start-up)
• Basic electrical/wiring knowledge
• Ability to read blueprints or willingness to learn
• Comfortable working in commercial environments
• Willingness to learn controls, start-ups, and service work
• EPA certification required
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
