Travel: Up to 80% (overnight travel required)
This is a travel-heavy, hands-on field service role.
You will travel to hospitals, labs, and healthcare facilities to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair medical electro-mechanical equipment. This is physical, independent field work — not office-based support and not an IT help desk role.
You will be expected to arrive onsite, identify equipment issues, perform hands-on repairs, document your work clearly, and move to the next service call with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Travel to customer sites across Florida and surrounding areas as needed
- Install, maintain, and repair medical electro-mechanical equipment
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures at the FRU/component level
- Replace parts including motors, sensors, connectors, wiring assemblies, and related components
- Use diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters and other field test equipment
- Document service activity, findings, and repairs accurately
- Work independently in hospital and regulated customer environments
- Manage frequent travel, overnight stays, and changing field schedules
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Hands-on electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
- FRU-level diagnostics and component replacement experience
- Professional use of diagnostic tools such as a digital multimeter
- Ability to work independently at customer sites with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight stays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical field work
- Must be currently based in Florida, preferably in or near the Miami area
This role is not a fit for candidates whose background is primarily:
- IT help desk
- Desktop support
- Network support
- Software support
- Academic training only without hands-on repair experience
Preferred Experience
- Medical device field service
- Industrial equipment or automation repair
- Military technical training in electronics or mechanical systems
- Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, engineering, or related field
Work Environment
- Frequent travel and overnight stays
- Independent field-based work
- Hospitals, labs, and other regulated service environments
- Physical, hands-on troubleshooting and repair
- Fast-moving schedule with changing customer needs
Compensation Note
This role is budgeted at $24.00-$29.00/hour plus overtime. Candidates seeking compensation above the posted range may not find this role aligned. This helps address the repeat pay-misalignment pattern already showing up in your 1075 tracker.
