Catering Server at Meriwether Godsey, Inc. – Hampden-Sydney, Virginia

Meriwether Godsey is looking for On-Call/Temporary Catering Servers; individuals who enjoy providing our guests with the finest food and drink, accompanied by an attentive and positive attitude, at a private men's college located in Farmville, VA.

• On-call/Temporary
• Must be available to work: Monday-Friday, 4p-9p AND Saturday-Sunday, 8a-8p
• Pay rate: $15 per hour
  

What you will do:

• Set up tables, linens, chairs, and serving stations for full-service banquet events.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area to facilitate workflows and minimize safety hazards.
• Greet and welcome guests and respond to specific requests in a courteous manner.
• Serve beverages and foods in the designated order and quickly remove dishes at the end of each course, meal, or function; replenish beverages and check with guests to ensure satisfaction.
• Collect used dishes and utensils from tables and return them to the dishwashing area
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
• Reset the banquet as specified by Management to ensure readiness for other functions.

What you need:

• Food Service/Serving/Catering experience (1-2 years preferred)
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills
• Flexibility; ability to switch between locations and job duties
• Ability to stand/move about for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to handle high-volume customers
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Reliable Transportation
